BAD weather has put a hold on Ashburton’s annual testing of beer and bread.
The town’ s Annual Ale Tasting and Bread Weighing Ceremony was due to take place this afternoon (Saturday) but the forecast inclement weather means organisers of the 700 year old event, the Ashburton Courts Leet and Baron, have decided to play safe and call it off.
‘Unfortunately we’ve had to postpone it due to the bad weather,’ said the town’s Portreeve Karen Turner. ‘However, it will be rescheduled!l’
