AN Exminster man has elected to stand summary trial on charges relating to burglaries that he denies.

Philip Neil Seaton, aged 41, of Milbury Farm Meadow, pleaded not guilty entering The Boathouse at Dawlish Warren as a trespasser with intent to steal on December 11, 2022.

He also elected to stand trial on a charge of entering The Boathouse, access to Pavillion Amusements, at Dawlish Warren as a trespasser and stealing £60 in cash. Which he denied.

He is also charged with being at The Boathouse with an article for use of or in connection with a burglary – a crowbar. He faces a further similar charge involving a torch. He pleaded not guilty to both of these charges.

He faces a further charge of entering a Costcutter in Burnthouse Lane Exeter, as a trespasser with intent to steal to the value of £2,960.

The case was adjourned to September 5 for the trial. He was remanded on conditional bail.
