A DEVON man in his thirties has been sentenced to several weeks in prison for shoplifting.
As part of further action associated with Safer Business Action Week, officers in Torquay charged Dominic Napier with 11 counts of shoplifting on Wednesday, November 12, following his arrest on Tuesday.
Napier, 31 and from Torquay, was remanded in custody, before appearing at Plymouth Magistrates Court on Thursday, November 13.
He was sentenced to just over 14 weeks imprisonment.
In light of Napier’s incarceration, the Torquay Neighbourhood team said it will continue to target those ‘causing the most harm to our retail community’.
Safer Business Action Week aims to strengthen relationships between local policing teams and businesses and to together tackle retail crime, anti-social behaviour and other offences affecting businesses in communities.
