IT is that time of year again as a Newton Abbot youngster prepares for her annual charity cake sale.

Now in its fourth year, nine-year-old Red Murrell’s cake sale has become famous on Exeter Road.

The Year 4 St. Michael’s School pupil has raised more than £1,500 through her last three cake sales.

This year Red is fundraising for the RSPCA and Cancer Research UK.

A variety of homemade cakes will be available, including dog-friendly cupcakes for pets.

The sale at 40 Exeter road, Kingsteignton will run until 2pm or until all cakes are sold.

‘Anyone who wants to support her is more than welcome to come and share some sweet treats for a good cause’, Rachel Murrel, Red’s mother, said.
