PATIENTS are being urged to keep planned medical appointments during the current doctors’ strike.
Torbay and South Devon NHS Trust is asking patients to continue to turn up as resident doctors who members of the British Medical Association take part in industrial action.
A spokesman for the trust said: ‘Please keep your planned appointments unless we have contacted you to cancel or re-arrange.
‘We’re working hard to keep disruption to a minimum and are asking for you to help us by using the right service for your condition.’
The latest dispute is due to continue until Monday April 13.
Anyone in need of life-saving or urgent care should continue to use the emergency department.
Newton Abbot’s urgent treatment centre continues to be open to tread minor injuries such as cuts, animal bites, rashes, lacerations and anything which needs an x-ray or stitching.
