A TOTAL of £1,780 was raised by Dawlish Ladies Hockey Club at their annual fun day.
The cash, donated by up to 400 who attended, is to be donated to this year’s chosen charity the BDFA which support sufferers of Battens Disease.
Held on the Lawn, the day featured rides, stalls, face painting and live music.
This year’s theme was pirates and there was a competition for the best fancy dress.
Youngsters were able to enjoy bouncy castle and bubble football.
A tombola, auction and raffle were also held.

Organiser Charlotte Mindham, who spent 10 months putting the day together, said: ‘Wow what an amazing day.
‘Every year we hold a family funday and choose a charity to support and donate some of the proceeds to the charity. This year was Battens Disease.
‘A local boy, Frazer, was nine years old when he lost his life to this terrible disease. He lived in Dawlish, so this cause was very close to the Dawlish community.
‘Throughout the 10 months of planning, we have had several people reach out to us, all local, who have been affected by Battens Disease too.
‘The day was a huge success and would not have been possible without stall holders, entertainers and generous donations from local businesses, for our auction and raffle.
‘Thank you to everyone who attended, we had such a fun day.’
