HUNDREDS of Santa Clauses and elves took part in this weekend’s Santa Dash in Bovey Tracey.
Starting and finishing at Mill Marsh Park and near to Josie’s Ice Cream Parlour – who offered mulled wine, mince pies and festive singing – runners ran either 1k, 2k or 5k routes.
Money raised went to Bovey Tracey Lifesaving Club and Bristol Children’s Hospital.
Organiser Ian Hutchings said: ‘There were 176 entries which included 21 elves and 155 Santas.
‘We are still waiting for confirmation of the money raised but is believed to be in the region of between £900 and £1,000, which we hope to present this over the weekend.
‘The majority of entries were families.’
The Santas were warmed up by a Fun Fitness leader from Finlake holiday park seen standing on the forklift truck, right.
Every Santa and Elf had to negotiate the isolated snow shower at the finish line, and after the dash everyone stayed for a Christmas singalong and bop to some crazy music from DJ Duncan.
Every photo taken at the end - over 300 had santas and elves with smiles on their facesIan added: ‘A big thank you must go to - Josies, the Jolly Roger, Finlake Holiday Par, DJ Duncan, Funlands Fair, Hollies Balloons, Bovey Town Council, the National Trust - for the support and all playing such a huge part in making the Dash the amazing event it was.’
