BOVEY Tracey Firefighters have helped a woman escape from a house fire.

They have today, Wednesday, released this picture of the damaged caused in the blaze.

‘Yesterday afternoon we were mobilised to reports of a fire alarm sounding in Bovey Tracey,’ they say.

‘As our pump was leaving the station it was confirmed that there was smoke within the property with an occupant still inside.

‘Once the property was located, the occupant was at the bottom of the stairs and was assisted out by the crew.

‘A breathing apparatus team was committed into the smoke logged property to locate the source of the fire.

‘It was quickly discovered to be smoking materials that had ignited some nearby materials.

‘Crews used a hose reel jet to ensure the fire was out and also used a thermal imaging camera to ensure no fire spread. A PPV fan was also used to clear the smoke from the property.’
