MAGISTRATES have imposed a suspended prison sentence on a Dawlish woman who attacked an accident and emergency nurse.

Paula Gallienne, 59, of Church Street, pleaded guilty to the charge of assaulting an emergency service worked on August 26 2021.

The court heard the attack on the nurse was unprovoked and Gallienne had grabbed her around the throat.

She had to be pulled off the nurse.

She was sentenced to 24 weeks in prison, suspended for 12 months and was ordered to pay £500 compensation.
