DAWLISH is to play host to the fourth Turn The Tide festival.

The event aims to bring attention to climate change and the environment while providing a day of family fun and entertainment.

Now in its fourth year, the event has been scaled back from a three day event to just one day and will take place on Bank Holiday Monday May 26 from 10am to 4pm.

The free festival will feature live music and entertainment, eco-friendly stalls and activities and local food and drink.

Turn The Tide is a not for profit organisation run by volunteers who aim to make Dawlish the most climate and nature aware coastal town in the UK.

This year’s day long festival will include Turn The Tide Banners to create a new flag for the organisation for next year.

A spokesman said: ‘Whether you're passionate about the environment or just looking for a great day out, there's something for everyone.

‘Come join us and be part of the wave of positive change.’

Organisers say the event will be held on the part of the Lawn not currently affected by South West Water’s ongoing works.

This year’s festival will feature live music by the Ellie Finnerty Band and singer songwriter Lucy Wylde.

Also during the day there will be children’s activities, yoga and mindfulness workshops and a display of heritage cycles.

There will also be eco-friendly stalls and performances from Drum Devon, a social enterprise which runs accessible drum and percussion workshops.

Turn The Tide is a community interest company run by volunteers to promote care for the marine environment as well as embracing the concept of healthy planet, healthy people.

The first event was held in 2022.
