A POPULAR Dawlish cafe has been targeted by vandals.
Cool Beans on the Green is the latest business in the town to fall victim to criminal damage.
On Saturday night, the glass door and windows to the building on the Lawn were smashed.
It appears power to the building was cut off before the incident so the security cameras were turned off.
The cafe owners believe as the cracks are in a low position and a circle taken out of the glass, it could have been caused by a hammer.
They also believe it was deliberate rather than a brick being thrown.
A spokesman said there is a risk hundreds of pounds worth of stock will be lost.
They said: ‘The cameras were turned off at approximately 17.20 however the damage could have been sustained anytime after that and before 6am the following morning.
‘This has been reported to the police with an official crime reference number.
‘We are disgusted that this type of things keep happening in Dawlish and hope these incidents stop for the safety of local businesses staff and their business.’
Anyone with information is urged to contact the police.
