TEIGNBRIDGE Council’s headquarters at Forde House remain open to the public and staff following an unauthorised encampment in the car park.

A number of caravans and other vehicles arrived at the site yesterday.

The offices and reception remain open and all council services continue to operate as normal.

However, on site parking is currently limited.

Tomorrow’s annual full council meeting will take place as scheduled at 10am in the council chamber.

Anyone planning to attend in person is advised to travel by public transport, walk or cycle where possible.

Those travelling by car are asked to use town centre car parks and walk to Forde House.

Alternative parking arrangements have been made for councillors and staff required to attend the meeting.

There is parking on site for anyone who has mobility issues and residents are encouraged to notify the parking attendants on arrival.

Teignbridge District Council says it is following the appropriate legal processes to address the unauthorised encampment.

A spokesman said: ‘The council thanks residents and visitors for their patience and cooperation.’

Tomorrow’s council meeting will be livestreamed for anyone wanting to watch.
