TEIGNBRIDGE District Council’s Executive Member for Climate Change, Coastal Protection, and Flooding, Cllr Jackie Hook, said: ‘From extensive surveys we know that the public would like the Council to help improve bus services, and other sustainable travel options. There is also an imperative for us to do this to address climate change.

‘However, consultation on this bus link proposal has shown that the detail of how those improvements are made is crucial.

‘A significant number of residents living on the bus link route had legitimate concerns and shelving these proposals is the right thing to do.

‘The consultation has shown that the council does listen. It is important that whatever residents’ views are on council proposals, in opposition or supportive, that they voice them.’
