A MOTORCYCLIST escaped with minor injuries following a collision in Bishopsteignton with a double decker bus last night.

The accident happened at 7.30pm on Newton Road which was closed for several hours.

Police and paramedics were called to the scene and the biker was taken to hospital.

His injuries had initially been thought to have been serious.

Police have confirmed that following examination at Torbay hospital, his injuries were minor.

The road was closed by police immediately after the crash and left for highways teams who reopened the road at 12.35am today.

Motorists said the road was closed from the Kingsteignton roundabout to Morrisons store at the entrance to Teignmouth.
