A CASUALTY was trapped by the leg under an agricultural vehicle near Chudleigh.
Firefighters from Dawlish were called to the location yesterday, Wednesday, following a call reporting a member of the public who had rolled a small agricultural vehicle, trapping them beneath it.
The Dawlish crew was joined by colleagues from Middlemoore fire station.
At the scene, firefighters confirmed there was a small
4x4 utility vehicle on its side with the casualty trapped beneath it.
Paramedics and police were alerted and Devon Air Ambulance was scrambled as well as the Hazardous Area Response) team from South Western Ambulance Service.
Once the crews from Middlemoor arrived, Dawlish firefighters used their heavy lifting airbags to stabilise and lift the vehicle from the casualty, releasing their leg.
Once the casualty was released from underneath the vehicle, they were treated at the scene by paradmecis and taken to hospital by the Air Ambulance.
A spokesman for Dawlish fire station said: ‘Due to the remote location of the incident it was wisely passed to the emergency services using What 3 Words, which allowed for easier locating of the casualty.’
