It has now announced its new season of events, which begin this autumn with its Hallowe'en Five and Ten mile event on Sunday, October 29, starting at Piazza Terracina on the Quay and following the path through Riverside Valley Park.

It’s a perfect event for those who are ready to move on from 5k, and, with just weeks to go, there’s still time to train and prepare.

The Hallowe'en Run is followed by the ever-popular Santa Run, which sees hundreds of Santas dashing through Exeter High Street and this year takes place on Sunday, December 3.

Exeter City Community Trust organises running events to generate revenue for the work it does across the Greater Exeter area, from wellbeing activity to supporting some of the most vulnerable in our community.

In recent years it has developed its offer and improved its race village enhancing the experience for participants and their supporters. It has also added a number of distances to its race calendar, making its events accessible for all abilities.

Jamie Vittles, chief executive of Exeter City Community Trust, said: “Over the years we have been delivering running events we have listened to our participants, and we aim to stage events which offer a challenge for people of all abilities.

"The revenue generated from our events goes towards supporting our work in the community, so we are grateful to everyone who takes part and, of course, to our generous sponsors and volunteers who give up their time to support us.”

The running events are sponsored by Tozers LLP, HSBC, Exeter Live Better and Radio Exe.

Exeter City Community Trust also works with four selected charities a year, offering free places to runners who fundraise for them.

The current charity beneficiaries are Exeter Leukaemia Fund, Children’s Hospice South West, Alright Mate? CIC and Julian House.
