A VEHICLE was completely destroyed in a fire on the A380 last night (Wednesday) at Kingsteignton.

Fire control received many calls reporting the vehicle fire shortly after 8pm.

Fire appliances from Newton Abbot and Torquay were sent to deal with the blaze.

A fire control spokesperson said: ‘On arrival the incident commander confirmed one vehicle well alight.

‘Crews promptly extinguished the fire using two breathing apparatus, one hose reel jet and one thermal imaging camera.

‘The incident commander confirmed the fire was located in the engine compartment and the crew cab. The vehicle was a hundred per cent damaged by the fire.

‘This was believed to an accidental fire.’
