A TEENAGER from Newton Abbot has donated his hair to a charity that makes wigs for young people who have lost their own hair through cancer treatment.

It was 2021 when nine-year-old Tyler Saunders decided to grow his hair long.

And while the style certainly suited the young man, the short-haired life recently came calling for the now 13-year-old teenager.

Tyler decided to has his hair cut and donated to The Little Princess Trust, a charity that provides free real hair wigs to children and young people up to the age of 24, who have lost their own hair through cancer treatment or other conditions, after learning that two of his brother’s best-friends lost family to cancer.

His hair will be made into a wig for a little girl who lost her hair.

The young man has also been fundraising to pay for the hair to be made into a wig, for it to be fitted and styled at no cost to the little girl’s family.

At present, Tyler has raised more than £800.

‘Tyler, being the kind hearted young man that he is, asked if he could have his hair cut and donate it to the Little Princess Trust’, said mum Claire.

‘Not only does he want to donate his hair to this amazing charity, but he would like to be able to raise enough money to fund that hair being made into a wig for a child suffering hair loss.

‘Tyler would like to dedicate his big hair cut to Rose and Claire, both with so much love left to give but sadly taken far too soon.

‘Huge thanks to The Groom Room in Newton Abbot for donating his hair cut, and especially to George for his time and patience who has cut his hair into a new short style that Tyler loves!’ said Claire.
