A PROCESSION of tractors made their way across Dartmoor on Sunday, all to raise money for the charity Dartmoor Search and Rescue.

A total of 52 trucks and tractors entered the event, meeting at Welstor Farm (thanks to the Bowden Family) before making their way across the moor.

With the route lined with spectators, the procession went through Widecombe, out to Postbridge and back to Welstor Farm via Soussons Common.

Once back at base, a BBQ and drinks kicked off to raise some extra cash and refresh the drivers. Anneliese Retallick, chair of Newton Abbot YFC and an organiser of the event, said: ‘The event raised a total of £700 for charity and most importantly everyone thoroughly enjoyed a great day out with beautiful scenery across Dartmoor!

‘We would like to thank everyone who supported our tractor and truck run this year and we look forward to returning this event again next year!’

Kevin Chamberlain, of Dartmoor Search and Rescue, said: ‘For Young Farmers support as their nominated charity this year means a great deal to us, and it’s fantastic that they raised £700 with the Tractor Run.’
