BUSINESSES in Teignmouth are being encouraged to attend a free event to find out more about what support is available.

The business support evening is being held on Thursday, September 10, at Bitton House from 3pm to 7pm.

It is being hosted by Teignmouth Town Council in collaboration with Devon County Council.

The aim of the event is to bring together local enterprises and a range of stakeholders including South Devon College, Exeter College, the Federation of Small Businesses and local Chambers of Commerce.

Devon County Council will also be on hand with its teams from the Connect to Work employment support programme, Train 4 Tomorrow skills bootcamps, and Learn Devon, the county council’s adult education service.

Terrill Mayho, Assistant Town Clerk at Teignmouth Town Council, said: ‘We have so many fantastic businesses here in Teignmouth and we really want to do what we can to support them.

‘There is a huge amount of help available, but businesses don’t always know what’s out there or who to speak to, so this event is about bringing that support together in one place and making it easy to access.

‘We’d really encourage local businesses of all shapes and sizes to come along, make some new connections and find out what opportunities are available to help them grow and develop.

‘It’s completely free, catered and we’d love to see as many of our local businesses there as possible.’

Cllr Simon Clist, Devon County Council Cabinet Member for Assets and Resources, said: ‘This event is a great opportunity for local businesses to discover the support and training resources available in the county. For anyone looking to grow their business, it could open up new opportunities.

‘Businesses will also be able find out how they might be helped to recruit new staff through Connect to Work.’
