THIS year’s appeal has been launched to donate items to HITS Foodbank’s Christmas Hampers.
Every year, the charity creates festive hampers to distribute to local households across Teignbridge.
Now it’s time to help fill the hampers by donating items to various collection points.
These are at Morrisons, Sainsburys, Aldi, Lidl and many of the churches in the district that collect for HITS.
A HITS spokesman said: ‘These hampers, filled with special treats, aim to bring comfort to struggling families during the holiday season.
‘We face extraordinary challenges this year, there has been a significant increase in households experiencing crisis across Teignbridge, while, understandably our food donations have shrunk as a result of the cost of living increase.
‘Your support holds greater significance than ever this year.
‘If you are in a position to contribute, we would be immensely grateful.
‘The Sea Scouts are supplementing our volunteers and helping pack the hampers, Teignbridge Council Housing team are distributing hampers to households in need.’
