POLICE were called in to deal with an unusual ‘suspect’ in Newton Abbot – this swan!

The town’s police posted this picture of the ‘rogue’ swan they apprehended on their Twitter feed adding: ‘We had a different kind of suspect in Newton Abbot.

‘This swan was the subject of two separate calls an hour apart where it was blocking roads in Newton Abbot.’

But it all ended well thanks to our local police officers.

‘It was quickly dealt with by patrol officers and returned safely to Jetty Marshes,’ they added.
