HISTORIC St Gregory’s Church in Dawlish will be throwing open its doors in aid of Devon Historic Churches Day.
On September 9, the church will be open between 10am and 4pm to visitors.
The day will feature a performance by the church choir and an organ recital.
And anyone with a head for heights will be able to climb the Medieval church tower which it is hoped will be open between 2pm and 4pm for a bird’s eye view of the town.
This event is free but any donations will be very gladly received and will go to St Gregory’s Church and Devon Historic Churches Trust.
The church has a Medieval tower but the rest was built in 1824.
A church spokesman said: ‘St Greg’s is Dawlish’s parish church so belongs to all of us and is the perfect place for some gentle reflection away from the hustle and bustle of town.
‘But if you fancy a bargain, you are very likely to find this on our excellent bric-a-brac stall whilst enjoying a cup of tea, coffee or squash and treating yourself to a biscuit or two.’
The choir will be singing for about half an hour from 2.30pm followed by an organ recital by Ian Bartlett from around 3pm for about an hour.
