RAIL passengers are being advised that the line between Plymouth and Liskeard is closed until 6pm today as work continues to removed an unexploded Second World War bomb. 

Emergency services need to close the line while the bomb is removed from the garden of a house in the city and transported to be detonated out at sea. 

Great Wester Railway is warning those travelling towards Devon and Cornwall are advised to avoid attempting to travel beyond Plymouth and to delay their journey. 

Those travelling from Cornwall are advised to avoid attempting to travel beyond Liskeard and to delay their journey. 

The removal of the device is also impacting the road network in the area, affecting the ability to provide replacement road transport. 

To help those who have already purchased tickets, tickets for travel today through the affected area will be valid later today and up to and including Saturday 24 February. 

The line closure may also affect services immediately before and afterwards and customers are advised to check their journey before travelling to avoid being caught out.
