ROCK star Captain Sensible is to perform at a benefit gig in Dawlish tonight.
The singer songwriter, who co-founded punk band The Damned, will headline Sensible Salads at the Marine Tavern on Friday.
The event is a benefit gig to support the Cove Cafe at Coryton after it was broke into twice in the space of two weeks.
A spokesman for the pub on Marine Parade said: ‘Come on down for a fun evening and support a great cause.
‘We are thrilled and happy to host a very special live music night.
‘The Cove Cafe has suffered two break-ins.
‘Very generously, Captain Sensible and local band The Salads are teaming up to present a selection of classic punk and original tunes.
‘They are giving up their time for this.’
Captain Sensible will be on stage at 9.30pm performing a selection of his hits with The Salads kicking off the evening at 8.15pm.
Entry is free but there will be buckets for cash donations.
