POLICE, acting on information from council CCTV operators, seized a large haul of suspected counterfeit tobacco, cigarettes, and vapes from a vehicle in Torquay.

While on foot patrol on Thursday, August 21, the neighbourhood team received information about a male coming and going from a vehicle in the town centre.

He was suspected to be reloading his pockets with counterfeit items to sell in a shop on the high street.

Unfortunately, while the the male was taking a quick power nap in the vehicle, officers approached and detained him for a search.

A search of the vehicle revealed a large haul of suspected counterfeit, tobacco, cigarettes and vapes.

The items were seized and trading standards have been informed, say Torquay Police.
