POLICE have obtained closure orders against properties in Torquay after reports of anti-social behaviour.

The two properties, Lucius Street and Abbey Road respectively, have ‘detrimentally impacted the local community with associated anti-social behaviour and disorder’, said Torquay Police.

The orders will prevent criminal activity taking place, but will also allow safeguarding interventions to take effect with the rightful occupiers of the addresses.

The closure orders will remain in place for three months, with it being a criminal offence to breach the notice.

‘We will take action against those that fail to comply with the order’, says Torquay Police.

‘We will continue to act against properties that cause harm to the local community and welcome any reports of similar behaviour taking place.

‘You can report directly on the Devon & Cornwall Police website, in an emergency please use 999’, the force added.
