PROPOSALS to redevelop a derelict site in Dawlish have been given the green-light by planners.

The application - reference 26/00577/FUL - sought to restore and convert the Old Vicarage building into three, two-bedroom houses and two, three-bedroom houses, as well as a two-bedroom house in the converted coach house.

It also sought permission for a newly built dwelling, as well as associated demolition, landscaping and infrastructure works.

And Teignbridge Council have granted planning permission, saying that development must begin within three years, though the council specified that before any work can take place, a Construction Management Plan (CMP) must be submitted and approved.

The plan includes the timetable of the works, daily hours of construction and much more besides.

The site at 13 Weech Road currently comprises a three-storey stone structure, a two-storey cob building and a detached coach house.

All buildings are listed and in varying states of disrepair.

Planning documents describe the proposal as a conservation-led scheme designed to secure the future of the three listed buildings through sensitive repair and adaptation.

The supporting statement says the plans have been shaped by extensive pre-application engagement and reflect best practice in heritage design, sustainability and residential planning.
