PLANS for a new solar park at a Teignbridge hospital have been approved, allowing the site to move forward with its renewable energy plans.
Devon Partnership NHS Trust has been granted planning permission for a ground-mounted solar panel array at Langdon Hospital in Dawlish.
The approved scheme will see solar panels installed to the north of The Dewnans building, alongside a perimeter fence and battery storage facilities.
The panels will be positioned at a 20-degree angle to maximise solar gain and improve energy generation.
The perimeter fencing will consist of dark green metal mesh standing three metres high.
The application, reference 25/01244/MAJ, was submitted to Teignbridge District Council, which has now granted permission subject to conditions, including that work must begin within three years of the approval date.
Dawlish Town Council previously recommended no objection to the proposals.
