A MAN from Newton Abbot will face trial at Exeter Crown Court accused of threatening to kill a woman and set fire to her home.

Reece Opie, aged 25, of Clifford Street, Newton Abbot, pleaded not guilty to four allegations of domestic abuse when appeared before Judge David Evans by video link from Exeter prison.

He denied battery against a woman on December 9, 2022, threatening to destroy her property by fire, threatening to kill her and criminal damage to glasses, an ornament and a television.

All the offences are alleged to have taken place on December 9, 2022. He was remanded in custody pending a trial listed for June 1, 2023.
