WORK has begun to replace the temporary traffic lights at the Clay Lane junction with Clay Pits Way with a temporary roundabout

Devon County Council said the change follows public feedback and is intended to improve traffic flow at the busy junction.

The installation of the roundabout is expected to take several days.

During this period, the road will remain open, with temporary traffic lights controlling traffic management while the works are carried out.

For safety reasons, the speed limit at the junction will be reduced to 30mph while the temporary roundabout is in place.

Once the wider A382 improvement scheme is completed, the temporary roundabout will be removed and the junction will revert to its current layout and speed limit.

The council said the works form part of ongoing efforts to manage traffic during the major road improvements in the area.
