NEWTON Abbot’s MP says she was ‘honoured’ to be among the many politicians who paid their condolences to King Charles III.

Anne Marie Morris, the Conservative MP, was able to attend the Addresses of Condolence by both Houses of Parliament to His Majesty on Monday.

Ms Morris thought it was an honour to be part of such an historic occasion.

She added that the music was stunning and it was incredibly moving but odd to be singing ‘God Save the King’ for the first time.

She will not be attending HM Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral service today, Monday, at Westminster Abbey.
