POLICE are inviting you to ‘make a difference in your community’.

The Special Constable recruitment date has been extended until Friday, March 11.

A police spokesperson said: ‘There is still time to sign up if you are interested in volunteering.

‘Special constables are volunteer police officers who give their spare time to help the police.

‘This volunteer role gives you the chance to work alongside regular police officers, bring you life skills and experiences and give something back to this beautiful part of the world.’

It’s not all glamourous but it is rewarding. You’ll need to be able to give at least 16 hours of your time each month and once trained, you will have the same powers as a regular police officer helping to protect and support the people who live in Devon, Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.
