BUCKFASTLEIGH Firefighters have thanked people for turning out for their lifesaving session on using a defibrillator on Saturday morning.

On Facebook they said: ‘Massive thank you to everyone who braved the weather and came along to our basic life support and public access defibrillator session this morning.

‘It was wonderful to meet you all and your enthusiasm and engagement made it a very enjoyable morning for us all.’

One of the people who took part posted: ‘Huge thanks to Guy and everyone involved from the fire service.

‘I train people myself and I can say the delivery was absolutely first class. We found it really useful and reassuring, and now feel much more confident that we could use these defibrillators, and so much more, should we need to.

‘We found the latest CPR advice, the recommendations for helping various age groups from babies to adults, and being able to practice on the training manikins after, particularly useful. Very well done and thank you so much.’
