A KITCHEN caught fire in a Newton Abbot care home in the early hours of this morning, Monday.

Firefighers from Newton Abbot and Torquay dealt with the fire at the home in Forde Park shortly after 2am.

A Fire Control spokesperson said: ‘The fire was confined to the kitchen on the ground floor of the property and it was extinguished using two breathing apparatus, one hose reel jet, and one positive pressure ventilation fan.’
