ROWCROFT Hospice’s is inviting supporters to take part in its sponsored eight-mile ‘Sleep Walk’ this summer.

Taking place on Saturday, June 20, the event raises vital funds to ensure people across South Devon can receive expert, compassionate care at the end of life – whether at home or in the hospice – at a time when families need it most.

As a charity, it costs Rowcroft Hospice £11 million each year to run its services, yet only 24 per cent of its income comes from the NHS – the rest is raised through the generosity of the local community.

Rachel Haime, Events and Projects Fundraiser at Rowcroft Hospice, said: ‘We are so pleased to be bringing the Sleep Walk back to our community this year.

‘Rowcroft’s teams are there day and night – at home and in the hospice – ensuring patients are comfortable and surrounded by the people they love.

‘By stepping out together, our Sleep Walkers will be helping us provide vital care for local families when they need it most’.
