LOCAL construction firm Cavanna Homes’ annual charity golf day drove fundraising to a new high this week, raising almost £10,000 for Children’s Hospice South West.

Employees, contractors and suppliers took to the green at Woodbury Park, Exeter to compete in an 18-hole round and a ‘Beat the Pro Challenge’ in support of the firm’s charity of the year.

The competition was followed by a barbeque and evening auction to raise funds for the charity, who provide essential hospice care to children with life-limiting conditions and support for their families.

A total of £9,806 was raised from ticket sales, donations and the evening auction, doubling last year’s fundraiser and providing enough to pay for 500 hours of vital care.

Melanie Potter, Head of Cavanna Homes’ Social and Charity Committee said: ‘Last year’s golf day was such a success, so to have run it again and raised over double the amount we did in 2021 is just brilliant.’

Henrietta Olsson, Area Fundraiser for the charity said, ‘Cavanna Homes is an incredible supporter of Children’s Hospice South West and we’re thankful to everyone who attended or donated a prize for the auction to help raise funds for our charity.’
