COVID cases have gone up by more than 20 per cent across Teignbridge over the previous seven days.

119 new people had a confirmed positive test result reported on Christmas Eve, yesterday, according to the latest Government figures.

Between December 18 and 24, 803 people had a confirmed positive test result. This shows an increase of 23.9% compared to the previous seven days.

One person with coronavirus went into hospital on December 19.

Between December 13 and 19, 18 went into hospital with coronavirus. This shows a decrease of -30.8% compared to the previous seven days.

There were 25 patients in hospital with coronavirus on December 21.

There were two coronavirus patients in hospital beds with a mechanical ventilator on December 21.

Fortunately there were no deaths within 28 days of a positive test for coronavirus reported on December 24.
