THE MILESTONE of a million booster jabs has been reached in the South West of England.
More than one million people across the South West have now received their Covid-19 booster jab.
Ever since the programme was lauched eligible people have largely come forward for a third dose of the Covid-19 shot.
The third dose is currently reserved for immunosuppressed individuals who have been offered an additional shot to reduce the risk of them becoming seriously ill should they contract the virus.
With winter fast approaching, the booster programme is prioritising those deemed most vulnerable to Covid-19.
Dr Michael Marsh, Medical Director at NHS England and NHS Improvement South West said: ‘It is wonderful to see the number of boosters and third doses increasing as we hit another big milestone.’
