A SIX-week consultation on the Neighbourhood Development Plan for Ipplepen Parish, which will influence development in the parish for the next 18 years, will begin on Monday, October 31.

The plan sets out what is described as a vision for the future of the parish and local planning policies which, together with the Teignbridge Local Plan, will be used to determine planning applications.

The plan has been written by the Ipplepen Parish Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group in partnership with Ipplepen Parish Council.

It is based on the views and aspirations of the local community, which has participated in numerous surveys, consultations and events that have been running since 2017, when the process began.

From the start of consultation until noon on December 12 details of the plan will be available online at www. teignbridge.gov.uk/ipplepennp and local residents and business owners will be able to give their views using an online response form or by using the Ipplepen Parish Submission Response Form.

Paper copies of the response form can be printed online and will also be available at the following locations during their normal opening hours:

► Ipplepen Village Hall, Biltor Road, Ipplepen, TQ12 2QQ

► Ipplepen Community Hub, Methodist Church, East St, Ipplepen, Newton Abbot TQ12 5SU

Consultation on the plan runs from noon on Monday, October 31, until noon on Monday, December 12.

Councillor Steve Rattlidge, chair of the Ipplepen Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group said: ‘This consultation on our Neighbourhood Plan is an important step in the local planning process.

‘The group has spent a lot of time over more than five years talking to local people and businesses to understand their aspirations for future development in our parish.

‘When adopted the plan will allow the views of local people to be heard and influence the determination of future planning applications.’

Completed feedback forms should be sent by email to neighbourhoodplanning@ teignbridge.gov.uk or by post to Ipplepen NDP Representation, Spatial Planning & Delivery, Teignbridge District Council, Forde House, Brunel Road, Newton Abbot, Devon, TQ12 4XX.

Following the consultation, all written comments will be passed to an independent examiner for review and possible amendment of the plan.

Following this, residents aged over 18 and on the electoral register will have the final say in a referendum, expected to be held in early 2023, on whether the plan should be adopted.
