GARY Glitter, the former singer who’s currently being held in HMP Channings Wood, has been charged with historical sexual offences dating back to the late 1970s.
The charges, brought by the Metropolitan Police, relate to one count of unlawful sexual intercourse with a girl under the age of 13, and three counts of indecent assault on a girl under the age of 14.
There is one alleged victim, with the offences said to have taken place between 1978 and 1981 in Kensington.
Gadd is due to appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court on August 5.
Gadd rose to fame in the 1970s and 1980s, before being convicted of a string of sexual offences, including attempted rape in 2015.
He was sentenced to 16 years in prison, being transferred to HMP Channings Wood, near Debbury, in 2024.
