HORTICULTURALIST and TV gardening expert Camilla Bassett-Smith was in Bovey Tracey to check out its blooms.

Camilla, a regular face on ITV’s Love Your Weekend with Alan Titchmarsh and many other gardening programmes, is also a judge for South West in Bloom.

Daffodil expert Camilla was spotted around the town having a look at all the displays, including Brookside Restaurant in Station Road.

The town’s hoping to continue its winning streak, having won Gold for the last two years.

Ahead of the judges visit, Brimley WI and Mayor Cllr Sheila Brooke were out in force on litter picking duties.

The Royal Horticultural Society’s Britain in Bloom campaig is one of the largest campaigns in Europe and involves over more than 1,000 communities across the UK each year.

Bovey Tracey’s Bloom leaders work closely with the town council, local businesses, residents and gardening enthusiasts ahead of the judging.
