FOUR tiny grey balls of cute fluffiness have provided a welcome boost to the Black Swan population of Dawlish.

The population was nearly devastated late last year following an outbreak of bird flu that saw the deaths of several of the town’s signature birds.

Fortunately the remaining birds have continued breeding this year with the current quartet started hatching just as Dawlish Celebrates Carnival drew to a close last weekend.

They have been wowing residents and tourists to the town with their antics as they start to explore the outside world.

The cygnets have been staying close to mum on Dawlish Water while dad keeps a watching brief on those coming too close.
