ONCE again the flags are flying along the main street in Bovey Tracey.
The brainchild of Granite Elements artist Bridget Arnold, the flags have been reinstalled along the town’s main street and beyond, after a winter in hibernation sheltering from the weather.
Bridget and her team of volunteers spent much of April repairing the medieval-style flags in a workshop at Make South West in the town, and on Monday, the team spent several hours putting nearly 40 of them back above shops and businesses along the high street.
Each flag bears a motif or play on words relating to the business, and Bridget said: ‘We’ve put them up in time for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee and next month’s craft fair.
‘It’s a way of promoting business in Bovey.’
