FIREFIGHTERS from Buckfastleigh broke out their wading suits for the station's latest training night.

The crew from Buckfastleigh Fire Station spent this week's drill night going over the water rescue equipment carried on the appliance., with two of the team donned wading suits.

This was to ensure the crew were familiar with how to correctly wear and use the equipment.

'Once happy with this we had a discussion about different techniques used to keep ourselves safe whilst working around water, before the team then went through different methods of rescue such as; the operation of our hose inflation equipment, throw lines, wading formations' a spokesman for Buckfastleigh Fire Statin said.

'We then spoke about features of a river that can help us identify hazards as well as safer areas within moving water' the spokesman added.
