FIRE stations across the region have raised more than £20,000 for the Fire Fighters Charity over the past 12 months through a series of community car wash events.
Crews, including those from Teignbridge, have been busy washing vehicles at stations throughout the year, with all donations going towards supporting the charity’s work in promoting the health and wellbeing of firefighters and their families.
Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service thanked local communities for their continued support, saying every donation has made a meaningful difference to the total raised.
They also paid tribute to firefighters who volunteered their time outside of operational duties to help organise and run the fundraising events.
A spokesperson for the fire service said: ‘Across our regions, our crews go above and beyond their life-saving jobs and have raised an incredible amount of donations for the charity.
‘Thank you to all our stations who have hosted car washes over the last year, here’s to another year of making a splash for the Fire Fighters Charity!’
