FIREFIGHTERS in Buckfastleigh have teamed up with the local Women’s Institute to provide vital first aid and defibrillator training.

It comes following Buckfastleigh WI’s donation of a defibrillator to the town.

The device has been installed near Mardle Way car park.

Crew members from Buckfastleigh Fire Station, including Crew Manager Cartwright and firefighters Leaney and James, provided some first aid training for Buckfastleigh WI.

It included what to do if you are the first person on the scene of a medical event, CPR and defibrillator use.

‘It was a fantastic evening, and thank you to the WI who made us very welcome and made it a very enjoyable session’, a spokesperson for the fire station said.
