‘ENQUIRES are ongoing’, say police after a man was found injured in East Street last night.

Officers were called at 9.25pm on Wednesday, August 27 following a report of a man being found injured in East Street, Newton Abbot.

It was reported he had been assaulted.

A scene guard was put in place.

The ambulance service also attended and the victim was taken to hospital.

A spokesperson for Devon & Cornwall Police said: ‘His injuries are not considered life-changing.

‘Enquiries are ongoing.
