PUPILS from All Saints Marsh Church of England Academy proudly joined in Newton Abbot’s Lantern Parade

This year’s theme, A Fairy Tale of Newton Abbot, transformed the town centre into a glowing wonderland of enchanting characters.

All Saints Marsh pupils embraced the theme by becoming gnomes, carrying their lanterns as they joined the procession.

A spokesperson for the event organisers said:

‘The illuminations the children make are fantastic. Every year the parade is full of colour and movement, and the streets are lined with people enjoying the atmosphere. It’s always a great moment for the town.’

The school said special thanks were due to the school’s PTFA which funded Templar Class to take part in the lantern-making workshop, helping pupils bring their fairy tale ideas to life.

Headteacher Liam O’Sullivan added: ‘We are incredibly proud of our pupils for their enthusiasm and imagination.

‘The Lantern Parade is a wonderful tradition that brings our community together, and it’s magical to see the children’s creations lighting up the town.

‘ A huge thank you to our PTFA for making this experience possible for Templar Class.’
