Widecombe in the Moor preschool have been reading the Charlie and Lola book about recycling.
The staff and children then had a challenge to do 100 reducing, recycling or reusing things.
Rose Underhill, chair of the preschool committee, said: ‘Each time they did they earned a point and when they had all 100 they were rewarded by the committee with a real tree to plant in our outdoor classroom .
‘We have recently moved our outdoor classroom into the parish field and are enjoying the fabulous new space to play in.
‘We planted the tree the other day and they are excited to see if it grows us some apples.’
